{"id":661,"date":"2013-05-05T19:53:21","date_gmt":"2013-05-05T19:53:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kevindavisphoto.com\/blog\/?p=661"},"modified":"2013-05-05T20:57:31","modified_gmt":"2013-05-05T20:57:31","slug":"boston-spring-blooming","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kevindavisphoto.com\/blog\/boston-spring-blooming\/","title":{"rendered":"Boston Spring Blooming"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Boston is buzzing with the bright colors of flowers and flowering trees.\u00a0 Hands down my favorite time of year in Beantown.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_662\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-662\" style=\"width: 200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kevindavisphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Dav13-2554.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-662\" alt=\"Boston Spring Blooming\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kevindavisphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Dav13-2554-200x300.jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.kevindavisphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Dav13-2554-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.kevindavisphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Dav13-2554.jpg 667w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-662\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Boston Spring Blooming<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The crown jewel is probably Boston Public Gardens, but there is much more.\u00a0 The Esplanade along the Charles River is bursting with flowering trees &#8230; and B.U. students out enjoying the sunshine.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the narrow streets of Beacon Hill, you can find some surprising small displays.\u00a0 For photography, be aware that the light changes dramatically in these tight spaces\u00a0 sheltered by tall brownstones.<\/p>\n<p>A long winding stretch of busy roadway known as The Riverway skirts along the edge of the Emerald Necklace.\u00a0\u00a0 At the northern end, close to Kenmore Square, are the Kelleher Rose Garding and Fenway Victory Gardens.\u00a0 (Though, there&#8217;s not much to see right now at the Rose Garden; too early for roses.)\u00a0 Heading south into Jamaica Plain, an hour or two at the\u00a0Arnold Arboretum is always nice.<\/p>\n<p>My friend Charlie drives a taxi in the city of Boston; he doesn&#8217;t much care for the busy heart of the city.\u00a0 But as I occaisionally make time to walk the streets, I am frequently surprised by gems of natures splendor, whether planted by the city or by residents tending what small patch of ground is available to them.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Boston is buzzing with the bright colors of flowers and flowering trees.\u00a0 Hands down my favorite time of year in Beantown.
