Book Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last year, I shared the beginnings of a project with you,\u00a0 a book documenting the wilflowers that grow at a local buisiness park.\u00a0 Since I there is not much opportunity to create new wildflower images between November and March, I had planned to begin the book layout in December.\u00a0 Now February, I am finally piecing together the book layout.<\/p>\n<p>In the past, I have used book layout software provided by the book printer (Mpix, Blurb, PhotoBook America).\u00a0 This time, I am using Adobe InDesign.\u00a0 This being the first project of any significant size for which I have used InDesign, I have found that the learning curve was not particularly difficult.\u00a0 I quite like InDesign.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_318\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-318\" style=\"width: 200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kevindavisphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/Davis10_6052.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-318\" 504w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-318\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pokeweed<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Here are a couple images that I am including in the book.<\/p>\n<p>The first is a relatively common weed, but I find it very interesting because it looks like small green peppers.\u00a0 I really like this image because it shows two slightly different stages and because the background is very soft, not distracting from the foregound subject.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_319\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-319\" class=\"mceTemp\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">The second image is Common Verbena (which is not particularly common in my experience).\u00a0 The flowers begin at the bottom of the flower spike and progressively bloom toward the top of the flower spike.\u00a0 I really like this image because of the somewhat unusual background, which I think is not readily obvious.\u00a0 There is a pool of water, with trees reflecting in it, and a grassy embankment.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<div
