the G85 noise at ISO 3200 is comparable to the G3 at 1600.<\/p>\n<h2>Features<\/h2>\n<p>After considerable study, here are the notable feature changes (notable in my opinion) starting with the G3 and moving to the very latest G9 (which I believe will ship later this month).<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>G5<\/strong> camera layout and handling is essentially the same as the G3<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>9 fps vs 6 fps<\/li>\n<li>\u201cLive MOS\u201d image sensor has technical speed improvements, but same resolution.<\/li>\n<li>Video recording supports MP4<\/li>\n<li>Higher resolution in both the LCD display and the EVF<\/li>\n<li>Eye-sensor below the EVF<\/li>\n<li>Larger handgrip<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <strong>G7<\/strong> layout and handling is significantly updated (compared to the G5)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>4K video recording<\/li>\n<li>OLED touch screen<\/li>\n<li>4K photo mode<\/li>\n<li>Wi-fi<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <strong>G85<\/strong> camera layout and handling is essentially the same as the G7.\u00a0 Here are the important feature enhancements in the G85.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In-body image stabilization\u00a0 (sensor-shift type)<\/li>\n<li>9 fps vs 6 fps<\/li>\n<li>49 focus pts vs 27<\/li>\n<li>Higher resolution in both the LCD display and the viewfinder display<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <strong>G9 <\/strong>camera layout and handling\u00a0is new and includes an monochrome LCD info screen on top of the camera.\u00a0 This is a breakout camera\u00a0that exceeds the G series moniker.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>20mp MFT sensor<\/li>\n<li>20 fps<\/li>\n<li>225 autofocus points<\/li>\n<li>Much larger viewfinder (EFV)<\/li>\n<li>UHD\/4K video up to 60 fps<\/li>\n<li>6K photo mode<\/li>\n<li>80MP image achieved by shifting the sensor 1\/2 pixel and then combining the two images together.<\/li>\n<li>Optional battery grip (for better handling in vertical orientation)<\/li>\n<li>USB 3.0<\/li>\n<li>Both Wi-fi and Bluetooth<\/li>\n<li>More than 5 ounces heavier than the G85;
